Meet Sarah

Happy Dancers

On retiring I decided to return to dance. On recommendation from a friend I signed up for both musical theatre and contemporary. The blend of challenge, fun and learning has been exceptional. Sarah is a talented teacher and has built up a team who obviously enjoy spreading the word about the benefits of dance for everyone.

This is the best dance group ever. I  have been with Sarah since she started the Wednesday morning musical theatre class and enjoy every minute of our lesson. I would love to do more but am committed to other things too. The online dance is amazing  dancing every morning encourages me to get up and in the current situation is a life saver. I have joined in all the classes at some point but my favourite is still Musical theatre although the contemporary class has re-awakened skills I learnt in college many years ago. Dance has brought new friends, new skills and much joy to my life in retirement. I would thoroughly recommend Sarah Moore Dance to anyone.

Musical theatre group wednesdays. Dancing with sarah is fun. We work hard to learn the routines she puts together but it is a time full of smiles and laughter. I would recommend these classes to older  students in particular.

Moore is more! I was searching for an adult ballet class for a long time before I came across a flier for Sarah Moore's classes at the Tennis Pavillion in Southsea. I can honestly say that Sarah has fulfilled the list of 'must haves' in a dance class and more! All of the sessions are in the daytime so no need to travel on those dark winter nights. Set in a wonderful location at the Pavillion and pitched just the right level, plus the music is really uplifting. Sarah's musical theatre and tap classes are equally as wonderful and now we are able to join her classes, online, every day!

Since being in lockdown I discovered Sarah's morning dance session. It has been an absolute joy to engage in the classes which are fun, diverting and provide gentle exercise and movement to great music. Sarah is really clear in her instructions and always bright and sunny. All this can be said about Jess's musical theatre class, which is slightly more challenging but absolutely great

Started Sarah’s on line classes a few weeks ago, they are easy to follow and a Sarah explains everything so well. I always feel good and energised after each one. Musical Theatre with Jess is fast paced and lively, a great workout. Really enjoying the classes, hope they continue after all this madness is over.

I dance with Sarah every morning. Her stretches and easy to follow dances are a great way to start your day. For a slight step up I do musical theatre, beginners tap, and workshops. They are all different and a wonderful way to start dancing. The classes are in bite sizes so that even a novice like me can follow. Sarah and Jess are lovely patient and enthusiastic teachers and their enthusiasm is infectious. I have never left a class without a smile on my face because above all the classes are FUN.Thank you Sarah and Jess.

I sing my praises to you for your wonderful free 💃 session at 10:00am every morning except Sunday. This wakes me up and gets me started for the rest of the day.The exercise routines are not over strenuous for the over 50’s and the  🕺 is so much fun for any age group to join in.In a  🥜 🐚 excellent family fun for all the family! I also join in Musical Theatre  and Beginners Tap with Jess who is a  😊 teacher, patient  and kind, a joy to follow along with and encourages you even further with sending out a recording of each dance for even more practice. Appreciate all you do!

I joined Sarah’s free morning class a few weeks ago on the recommendation of my cousin who’s been attending real life dance classes with Sarah for some time and always speaks very highly of her. I hadn’t done any sort of dance classes for many years but I am really loving this. Sarah is always so cheerful and smiley so, as well as giving clear instructions, it is always fun too. It starts off quite gently but by the end of the 30 minutes it really gets my pulse going. I love it! I’ve just started ballet too this week! It’s pretty much new to me but I’m hopeful! Either way it’s great exercise and gives me a sense of achievement. I highly recommend Sarah and her colleague Jess – a great and enjoyable way to keep fit in these unusual times!

I love Sarah’s classes (and those of Jess, one of her co-teachers)! When we were dancing in the studio I did weekly musical theatre, ballet and tap classes and although I am far from a natural dancer, with no dancing history, I felt completely at home under Sarah’s lively, cheerful and sympathetic direction. I could hardly believe that I could be a member of a winning festival class. Under the lock down the schedule that Sarah has set up is a life saver. Each day, along with seventy or so others, I dance for half an hour every morning and I also do three other classes with Jess during the week. Sarah deserves a medal for her cheerful approach and for sharing her wonderful dancing skill with so many others. She and Jess brighten my day.

Sarah Moore dance have provided me with such brilliant dance classes. I love how all the teachers cope with a huge range of ability and manage to encourage and support us all. Sarah’s response to the lockdown was swift and is massively appreciated by us all. It feels as though she is teaching me personally despite having 70 of us avidly watching . Jess’s musical theatre class is fab, challenging but instructions are clear and it is so good to achieve something. Their enthusiasm is infectious and uplifting. Pre lockdown Bronwen’s workshops have been the source of more laughing than almost anything else and I look forward to joining one again.

How about "I really enjoy my tap class, apart from being great fun with like minded ladies, you get 2 benefits for your money. You exercise your brain as well as your feet!" "And although the ballet class is quite testing, you come away feeling so energised and more flexible, every effort is sooo worth it" " Plus the added bonus of really lovely and enthusiastic teachers.

Sarah is an inspiration.  She has a fabulous personality and huge talent to match. I joined the Southsea classes in trepidation having not had a dancing lesson for well over 50 years. I felt at ease immediately because of the friendliness of the classes.  The pace is perfect and there is a class for all levels. I feel much fitter now, which is a bonus. Now because of lockdown, we are ‘dancing via zoom’ in our own homes. This has kept me sane and given me a structure to my day.  I enjoy them so much. I cannot recommend Sarah Moore Dance highly enough.

When I'm learning to dance with Sarah I smile! Her love of dance is infectious and she makes every class so enjoyable.  Sarah is an excellent teacher and choreographer and puts together the most amazing fun and imaginative routines. Currently because of lockdown, we are unable to attend classes so Sarah and her team have put together a programme of online classes to keep us all dancing. So much hard work for Sarah and her team and a great technological challenge for us all but so enjoyable and worthwhile! Sarah is getting us all through this difficult time.

I have been enjoying Musical Theatre classes and Workshops for the last 4 years. It is always great fun and I love learning all the different routines. Since lockdown Sarah and Jess have been providing us with brilliant classes at home and I have had the chance to experience Beginners Ballet and Improvers Tap which has been an added bonus! I can really recommend Sarah Moore Dance where you will find terrific teachers, fabulous friendships and delightful dancing!

I was attending beginners ballet and tap before the lockdown which I was really enjoying, so to be able to continue via zoom was great. The classes are really well put together so that you can dance in a very small space if you need to. Sarah and Jess are great teachers and of course Milly who I was having lessons with before the lockdown.
